"To be a good teacher, one must have excellent communication skills and patience." That's what mom had taught me. Being a teacher and educator for over 40 years, I have no doubt that she was right. "To be a master of one's trade, one must have the passion, the drive and a life-long quest for perfection and never stop learning." And that's my motto for work and life in general. I am very blessed to have a following of loyal students, fellow dancers and salsa fans who appreciates my work, my strength, my passion and positive approach to life. Here's a few comments and reviews from all over the world...

“This is written as a recommendation of Cynthia La China, as my current and continuing Salsa Dance instructor. I started taking classes with Cynthia in 2009 and began with two (almost) left feet. With her instruction, encouragement and patience, my movement improved to the degree that I started doing performances across the east coast as part of her troupe. Not only did she help with my actual movement, but also encouraged me regarding the whole concept of performing onstage in front of an audience, which is something that I never thought I would be capable of. Her belief in me helped me to get through the trepidation that comes along with any public performance and I'm better for it.

If you are looking for a dance instructor, I fully recommend Cynthia La China as someone who will show you proper form and technique, as well as learning in a fun and non-competitive manner. If you are looking for a performer, there is a voluminous amount of video recordings of her performances that show how artful, graceful and professional she is. I cannot say enough good things about Cynthia.” Daniel Appleby

"Cynthia, I really like where your heart is. You are very generous in spirit. This I can tell by how lovingly you're received by your students and friends and by your demeanor. Also, you've created a very warm, supportive, non-competitive, environment at your venues and that in itself is a rarity in most Salsa communities. Attending your social was definitely a BIG highlight of my trip to NY.  Again, thank you and I wish you continued success." Jim D'Apice, Seattle

"Hi Cynthia, it was a real pleasure meeting you and learning "Salsa" from you. You are a good teacher. I say that because my partner, being the immensely confident and wonderful man that he is, sometimes finds it difficult to take instructions from others. You, however, had him eating out of your hand!  You said, "Do it again" and he did it again, and again, and again. You have a remarkable ability with people. That is an incredible talent in itself. Please give us a call the next time you find yourself in Hong Kong.  We will go dancing. Until then..."Salsa baby"!!!!!" Betty Mok, Hong Kong
"I am Japanese and have been dancing Salsa for less than two years. I took my first salsa class from a Japanese teacher who had moved to LA and my friend recommended Cynthia's class. Finally, I met the best teacher for my tastes. I love Cynthia's style, and her classes are always fun and friendly.
I feel like I'm with family. Taking Cynthia's performance class has been very exciting and challenging. It has taken me to a new level. Hard work, but lots of fun!" " Yukito Ito, Japan

"I went to the studio where I did a private lesson in spinning and styling on2 with Cynthia La China. That was really the worth it! Cynthia is very good at noticing points for correction while smiling and giving encouraging comments at the same time." Fiona Nielson, Netherlands

"Cynthia, you have no idea how much you have done for us. We practiced yesterday afternoon and really got into the swing of things. Salsa comes to us, almost naturally and we are both smitten.I don't believe it would have been this easy for us if we did not have access to your talent, teaching skill and patience. Thank you!" Braham Singh, Singapore

"Cynthia is a very enthusiastic teacher and a very genuine, nice person. Go to her classes. You will really enjoy yourself and learn too!" Brian Silvestry, Organizer of NYC Salsa Meetup Group

"I like the group because of the gatherings are fun, but that is just one aspect. What I really like is Cynthia as a dance teacher. While other places just taught me steps, she pushed me learn how to lead, which is something I didn't find in other places. This is why I keep coming back." Christian Liendo, Student & Salsa Meetup Member

"Your group lesson instruction was the best I've been to. You very quickly get to two areas that I haven't seen in any other group class. I'm a musician and always thought that the numbering of the steps (123, 567) a little confusing, but I found your explanations very useful." Chris, Musician

"A teacher has to have good communication skills and Cynthia has them in abundance. For the first time I got hang of Salsa steps last night, and then I made notes using my phone. I would look forward to taking more lessons." Suhas, NYC Salsa Meetup Group Member

"All in all, you exceeded my expectations - for what I was anticipating I would gain in your class and you as a person... well... you are energetic, disciplined yet fun, crazy, hot, sexy, adorable, suave, sensual in dance...oh...didn't I say sexy already? You are the best!!!  Hope we are friends for life!!! Thank you soooo much for your dedication to us!" TJ Hill, Westchester

"I just wanted to thank you for a wonderful class. I had fun and hope to learn a lot from you!  I loved the rather small class environment cause it really forces me to do it." June Han, NYC

"Great dancer!!! Not just saying it because I'm learning moves in her classes. Saw her dancing afterwards....WOW." Jim, NYSalsaFiesta Meetup Member

"Dear Cynthia, your classes are a true pleasure. You just have a special knack for making the lessons fun and enjoyable, never tense or overwhelming. I still have miles to go, but I know I'll get there faster and easier with you steering the way. Thank you, Coach of Coaches!" Jay Caruso, Long Island

Re: Cynthia's student group debut performance

Hi Performers,

I would be remiss if I didn’t thank you for the pleasure I received in watching your performance.

Your leader certainly gave you the confidence to do a great job. In the few times that I came to learn the routine, I could see the patience and enthusiasm of Cynthia would make the performance a success. I wish I could have performed as well.

Everyone enjoyed the magical and mystical performance. I certainly did. The energy level, timing, precision and coordination were fantastic. The performer’s pulchritude was highlighted by their black and red outfits. I give it 6 stars, two thumbs up!!!
